end of summer geography

We wanted to paint the outside of our house this summer.

While we've painted numerous interior rooms in three different homes, we've never done exterior painting.

Let me tell you, prep work is a ... (female dog).

Papa is doing the most of the work. The first day we sat there with putty knives and scraped loose paint off the house.

There was a lot of loose paint.

Me: Look I'm making Germany!

Papa: I've got Illinois over here.

This project is taking a lot longer than we thought.
Make me feel better, what home projects are you working on?

i'm sure it won't take as long as our basement project - which took a year!! my best advice would be to go at it strong in the beginning and try to finish it as fast as possible! the more you drag, the longer it will take and it will end up being more like a chore than something fun (if you are considering it as fun)! but you can do it girl, it's going to look great!! can't wait to see the end result!

My craft room has been a work in progress for 4 years.

uhhhh, this is why we rent...I am so not ready for home ownership.....I hate yard work, house painting etc. I can barely keep up with the amount of laundry coming from my family, let alone find time to paint a whole house!

We have had lots of "luck" with uncovering little "surprises" that seem to extend the life of our projects. I showed a picture of the hole in our house, right? The one that was made when we found dry rot in the front of our house while doing our seismic retrofit? Well needless to say- neither project, has been totally completed yet!
