this is george

He's a good little blanket.

Mo's world does not revolve without him though.

The thumb and George often go hand-in-hand.

The other day we were playing and Maddie came over and asked for George. She held him next to her face and sucked her thumb for a couple of minutes.

Then, she handed him back, proclaimed "all done," and ran off to play again.

It was like a Maddie version of a smoke break.

My biggest fear is that we lose George.

Miyo said she'll make a back up George for her birthday.

I have been on the hunt for the fabric to no avail.

So, I ask you dear friends if you happen upon the fabric please tell me, or better yet -- just buy it. I hate to go back later and it not be there.

oh em gee! brings back sweet memories. both my girls had a manky (blankie) and sucked their thumbs! oh, and the funny thing is they both twirled their little mankies the same exact way!

there are a couple people selling items that used this fabric on ebay...

if I were you I would contact them through ebay and ask them if they have any of the yardage left that they would be willing to sell to you. The other option would be to buy the bag and take the fabric off of it...

There is a "contact this artisan" on the left...

Hopefully one of these will have some left over yardage, you don't need much.

THANK YOU tabitha. I had looked on ebay, but apparently not well enough!

Your welcome, I hope someone has a piece left over they can sell you. If not you can always invest in low-jack! ;) Or in all seriousness You could try making another one with a new fabric to have right now and divide her interest then she may switch over time or at least if the original is lost she will already have some attachment to the new one even though it isn't exactly the same. Just be sure to buy enough fabric to make alot of them!

Will keep an eye out. I love a good mission. It's really sweet, and I laughed when you compared her blanky break to a smoke break, so funny.

Hope you are having a loely summer.

do you think the idea of another fabric might work? maya had a favorite solid blankie and i got 2 backups in different colors and she didn't mind, but it might be different with a print. i feel your pain on getting one to have in waiting...all the while dreading that george might get lost. the horror.

Oh my gosh, when I was little I had a blanket and my parents said I left it in the hotel we stayed at for two days. I was devestated and I even remember it to this very day!
