kingdom o' castles

Once again, the --now tattered -- Cinderella dress made a major appearance this weekend at Katie's princess party.

There were princesses...

And, princes...
Castles...
(Katie wanted a big cake... "Like a wedding cake mama." As you can see my cake-making abilities are fairly limited.)
And, more castles...
And, even more castles...
(castle courtesy of some sheets from the thrift store)

And, yes -- another castle. Katie was insistent on having a pinata. I wasn't so sold on the swinging the bat in my backyard idea. So, I was able to talk her into a ribbon-pull pinata.

Amazing job on the cake and the tents. You are a great princess party maker.

OK seriously, I need to hire you and Jenn K. next time I throw a party...you two are both so creative! I love the big sheet castle, what a cool idea.

Wow, you went all out! I love your castle idea in the back. Beats a jolly jump any day. Happy 4th b-day Katie!

I just popped over from Jen @ odbts's blog and just admiring your adorable family. i say way to go on making the castle cake regardless of how "perfect" it may or may not have looked, its all about the effort in you children's eyes :) i really love that sheet castle idea too, very cool.
