the tiniest dancers

Kaitlyn had a little ballet performance last Friday, so you can imagine her surprise and elation when we received a package yesterday in the mail from the sweetest lady over at RiceBabies and found this inside.

Katie pointed out that they looked just like her and Dylann (who is practically an honorary Little Wickie) one with a single bun like Dylann, and the other with two like her.

"Did she know that's how Dylann and I were going to wear our hair?" Katie kept asking.

This morning I came out to the living room to find them performing for The Little People.

Thank you!

smoke!

We received some wonderful steaks and a roast from my father-in-law for our Christmas gift.

Much like toy/diaper boxes, the packaging itself proved to be loads of fun.

When scientist Papa came home and saw there was dry ice he quickly went to work to showcase its wares.

At first the girls were scared of it.

But after awhile, blowing the "smoke" proved to be fun.

None of my pictures of Mo turned out unfortunately, but she too enjoyed blowing the "smoke" around.

Katie and Maddie took turns stirring the boiling water.

Later, Papa made pieces of Tupperware explode when he sealed small pieces of dry ice in them.

It proved to be fun for all the the kids in the family.

a few of my favorite things

One of my favorite gifts this holiday season were these two beautiful books my friend Carrie gave me.

Jane Austen may very well be the original chick lit author, but I don't care. I never tire of her works.

In addition to reading the novels fairly regularly I have been wasting all too much time on YouTube watching this, this and this -- three of my other favorite Austen novels.

What can I say, I love the BBC.

early stocking stuffer purchase

Went shopping downtown this week. Found these and had to get them for Katie.

My husband is convinced she is going to make a huge mess which is most likely true.

But, she is going to love it!
